Goldenberry and Mulberry Chutney

Don’t be put off by the yellow green colors. This one is definitely a party in your mouth. This Chutney is so delicious! Full of Vitamin A, C, Iron, and Fiber, this goes great on crackers, with chicken, in chicken, on chicken (you get the idea), or on vegan crackers in need of a zing! Because one of the main ingredients is Golden berries, this dish will serve up a zesty zingy flavor that’s sweet, garlicky, tart, and herb-alicious all the while giving those important antioxidant boosts!

Ingredients

Organic Golden Berry Chutney

  • 1 cup dried Organic Mulberries
  • 1 cup dried Organic Golden Berries
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro
  • 1/4 cup chopped red onion
  • 1/2 to 1 teaspoon minced jalapeno
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/8 teaspoon cumin seeds

Directions

  1. Original recipe called for hydrating the berries for 3 hours, but we found that microwaving the golden berries for 45 seconds or cooking them in the oven at less than 120 degrees until they plumped up worked better.
  2. Mulberries just need to be soaked for about an hour.
  3. Place softened berries, ginger, and garlic in a food processor and pulse into small pieces.
  4. Add remaining ingredients and pulse to mix well. Serve at room temperature.
